Anchor Tank is an international supplier of bulk liquids supply chain logistics. It operates from a strategically positioned site at Mackenzie Road, West Melbourne, Victoria, where it provides the bulk liquids industry with a range of static storage and down – stream processing services.
Business strengths
Our Company’s key business strength is our track record in delivering flexible and cost competitive logistics to the bulk liquids industry. We conduct these services with unrivalled experience supported by thorough application of proven operational solutions. In 1991, Company founder and owner, Hugh Waltho, acquired 42 – 44 Burke St Braybrook site with the specific purpose of receiving, processing and packaging tallow. The tallow was either packaged into drums and containerised for export, or stored in bulk and then shipped via tanker through the recently developed terminal at 40 – 44 Mackenzie Road, West Melbourne. This operation grew to the point where by 2002 it had become the largest single exporter of drummed tallow out of Australia, with volumes of approximately 25,000 tonnes per annum shipped.Future growth
In parallel to this growth, the development of the Mackenzie Road, West Melbourne site continued, to current storage capacity of 4660 cubic metres, with plans at hand to significantly increase on this capacity. This infrastructure has the added bonus of a fully operational drumming station, supported by considerable warehousing space, weighbridge and hard-stand.Previous tallow trading activity and related entities at these sites has now ceased, and the businesses are now solely engaged in service provision to the bulk liquids industry.
